After reporting their experience to the U.S. Air Force, seeing a psychiatrist, and undergoing hypnosis, their experiences came to light only to be publicized and refuted. The encounter took place in Kelly, Kentucky in 1955 and is perhaps the earliest and most well documented alien-human contact on record in the United States. The encounter incited a four hour gun battle between a group of small creatures and a family on a rural Kentucky farm.
